The High Commission for the Republic of the Fiji Islands wishes to advise of the commencement of Tour of Duty of Mr Kamlesh Kumar Arya as Acting High Commissioner of the Republic of the Fiji Islands effective 6 August 2008.

Mr Karai Vuibau has commenced Tour of Duty as Consul-General of the Republic of the Fiji Islands in Sydney effective 13 August 2008.

The Fiji Consulate-General’s Office, Sydney will now be processing applications for Fiji Passports, Visas and Certificates of Identity.  Residents of New South Wales are requested to forward applications to the Consulate-General’s Office as follows:

Please ensure bank cheques/postal money orders are made payable to the Office of the Consulate-General if processed in Sydney.

Applications are sent to Fiji on a weekly basis for normal processing. Processing time for visas can take up to a minimum of 10 -12 working days and 3-5 working days for Certificate of Identity. Processing may take longer in some cases due to reasons including incomplete forms, non-payment of fees, transportation and handling by the courier services and late receipt of visa approval from Fiji. Every effort will be taken to process applications within the specific period. Neither the Fiji High Commission in Canberra nor the Fiji Consulate in Sydney will be responsible for any delay in the processing of applications by the Immigration Office in Fiji or any mishandling by Courier/postal services. All fees receipted are NON REFUNDABLE.
