How do I get an Apostille?


An apostille stamp will only be affixed to an official document which bears the original seal or signature of the relevant issuing authority.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade is equipped with the  designated authority to certify public documents under the convention.

If you do not have an official document, then you may apply for one through our diplomatic mission in Canberra.

There is no fee applicable for the apostille stamp.

 

Where do I send it ?


The official document can be submitted under cover of a letter of request for apostille stamp addressed to the Fiji High Commission PO BOX 159 DEAKIN WEST 2600 which must include the following:

  • Contact Details including best daytime contact number
  • Prepaid self addressed Express Post B4 Size Envelope for return of Document with Apostille

If you need to apply for an official document please submit under cover of a letter an apostille stamp addressed to the Fiji High Commission PO BOX 159 DEAKIN WEST 2600 the following:

  • A completed application form (return to General Advice to download a form for the certificate applicable to you)
  • Fee applicable (made payable to the Fiji High Commission by postal money order)
  • Prepaid self addressed Express Post B4 Size Envelope for the return of Document with Apostille

 

How long does it take to process?

The Fiji High Commission in Canberra will not be held responsible for any delays in the processing of certificates by the Registrar General of Birth, Deaths and Marriages or the affixation of the apostille stamp by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External trade in Fiji or any mishandling by the postal/ courier services.
