1. Visitor’s visa
The decision on visa applications is made by the Fiji Department of Immigration; all Visa applications received at the High Commission are sent to Fiji on a weekly basis for processing. Normal processing times for correctly completed visa applications is a minimum of 20 working days from receipt. The Fiji High Commission issues visas upon the sole approval from the Fiji Department of Immigration.
Applicants are to ensure that all the information required on the application form is completed in full and that all required documents are attached to the form.
Processing can be delayed for following reasons:
· incomplete forms,
· non-payment of fees,
· transportation and handling by the courier services;
· and late receipt of visa decisions from Fiji
Residents of New South Wales are requested to lodge or send applications to the Office of the Consulate General, 100 Walker Street, NORTH SYDNEY 2060 NSW.
Residents of all other States/Territories may lodge or send applications to the Fiji High Commission at PO BOX 159, DEAKIN ACT 2600.
DECLARATION
For the above reasons the Fiji High Commission Canberra and the Fiji Consulate General Sydney can not be held responsible for delays in visa applications.
APPLICANTS ARE ASKED TO READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE COMPLETING THE APPLICATION FORM. ALL DOCUMENTS REQUESTED BELOW MUST BE SUBMITTED. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN OBVIOUS DELAYS IN PROCESSING YOUR APPLICATION. INCOMPLETE APPLICATION WILL NOT BE PROCESSED UNTIL ALL REQUESTED DOCUMENTS ARE RECEIVED BY THE PROCESSING OFFICE.
An application for a Fiji Visitor’s Visa must consist of the following:
a) An Australia reentry visa. If the applicant requires a visa to return to Australia after visiting Fiji, the applicant must ensure that he/she has obtained this visa before applying for a Fiji visa. Failure to do so will result in the applicant’s application for a Fiji Visitor’s Visa being rejected;
b) Two (2) sets of application forms; one (1) copy to be completed by applicant in BLOCK CAPITAL LETTERS/ TYPE SCRIPT and one (1) photocopy;
c) Two (2) passport sized photographs of the applicant; please disregard application form requirement for three (3) photographs.
d) The applicant’s passport (must be valid for a minimum of 3 months from date of return to Australia or next destination);
e) Two (2) copies of the applicant’s travel itinerary or plane ticket (photocopies accepted) and;
f) Two (2) copies of written confirmation of Hotel accommodation in Fiji. In cases, where the applicant is staying with family or friends, the applicant must provide a letter from the host confirming this is true and the host must also include details of his nationality by providing his passport details or evidence of citizenship; (photocopies accepted)
g) If traveling with your family: you must include evidence of your relationship by submitting certified copies of your marriage certificate and birth certificate of children traveling with you (where applicable); If one member is from a visa exempt country but traveling with family that person must also submit a certified copy of their passport biodata page in additional to the latter;
h) If traveling for business purposes, a letter of support from your employer/company sponsor in Fiji outlining your purpose of travel on official letterhead will be required;
i) Two (2) copies of evidence that he/she has sufficient funds for travel example: bank statement or sponsor letter from Employer, parent etc confirming financial support with bank statement;
j) The fee applicable must be made payable in the form of postal money order made payable to the Fiji High Commission for the fee quoted. This fee is NON REFUNDABLE
Please note that before traveling to Fiji the applicant’s passport must be stamped at the office with which the application has been lodged. Traveling to Fiji without a stamp will result in immediate deportation from Fiji.
GAINING RE-ENTRY TO MY COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE
An applicant, who wishes to visit Fiji for a short period before gaining re-entry into a country other than their own, must have already obtained a valid visa to that country before applying to visit Fiji. For instance, if the applicant is a temporary resident of Australia, he/she must produce the valid visa through which they will gain re-entry into Australia. Applications for entry or re-entry into Australia or other countries cannot not be pursued while the applicant is in Fiji. Failure to have valid visas for entry or re-entry into Australia or another country will result in the application for a Fiji visa being rejected.
TRAVEL TO FIJI BY CITIZENS / NATIONALS OF NON-VISA-EXEMPT COUNTRIES
An applicant from a non-visa-exempt country must ensure that his/her passport is stamped with a Fiji visitor permit before traveling to Fiji at the Fiji Diplomatic Mission where the application was been lodged.
Traveling to Fiji without a visitor permit will result in an immediate deportation out of Fiji.
