I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT FIJI FOR A HOLIDAY - WHAT VISA DO I NEED?

Nationals of visa exempt countries *(see list below) are granted a visitor permit valid for four (4) months on arrival. Extensions may be granted on application with a fee for a maximum of two (2) more months during the initial 4-month period not after.

 

The above visa is issued on arrival on the condition that the bearer holds:

§ A passport that is valid for at least 6 months from date of arrival into Fiji

§ Return or Outbound tickets;

§ Re-entry/entry visa to a country other than their own (for example: permanent residents of Australia must produce a valid re-entry visa for Australia)

§ Evidence of sufficient funds for your stay in Fiji.

 

The countries listed below are classified by Fiji as ‘visa-exempt’ countries. Nationals /citizens of these countries are not required to obtain visas before entering the Fiji Islands as their visitors’ visa will be stamped on arrival at the Fiji border.

DO I NEED A VISA IF I ONLY TRANSIT THROUGH FIJI?

 

A national or citizen of a non-visa exempt country who transits through a Fiji port of call for the purpose of travelling to another country for which he/she holds a valid visa may travel to their destination within 3 hours from the time of disembarkation. Any period of stay in transit beyond the initial 3 hours requires the traveller to obtain a Fiji visa before travelling.

 

WHAT VISA DO I APPLY – SHORT TERM VISIT TO CONDUCT BUSINESS; ATTEND A CONFERENCE; BUSINESS NEGOTIATION OR AN EXPLORATORY BUSINESS VISIT.

 

Nationals from visa exempt countries entering for business purposes are issued a permit valid for fourteen (14) days on arrival.

 

The above visa is issued on arrival on the condition that the bearer holds:

§ A passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the intended date of departure

§ Return or Outbound tickets;

§ Re-entry/entry visa to a country other than their own (for example: permanent residents of Australia must produce a valid re-entry visa for Australia)

§ Evidence of sufficient funds for your stay in Fiji.

 

Nationals or citizens from countries of non visa exempt (see list above) are required to apply for a visa for business purposes BEFORE entry into the Fiji Islands.

CAN I EXTEND MY BUSINESS PERMIT IN FIJI?

 

ADVICE FOR THOSE FROM VISA EXEMPT COUNTRIES

It is possible to apply for an additional two weeks beyond the fourteen (14) day period (maximum of six (6) weeks from the date of arrival) at a fee of $F185. Application for the extension must be made within the first 14 days NOT after. The following documents must be submitted with your application for extension:

 

· Letter from the employer;

· Completed Application of Permit Extension Form

· Confirmed booking;

· Fee $185

VISITING FIJI FOR RELIGIOUS PURPOSES

Any persons going to Fiji for religious activities will be required to pay F$185 from the first day of their arrival in Fiji.

 

SHORT TERM PERMIT

An applicant who wishes to stay in Fiji for over a six weeks stay up to a maximum of six (6) months for business purposes will have to apply for a short term permit.

The fee for a short-term permit is F$650.00. The application must be submitted with:

· a written request by the local employer /agent;

· travel itinerary/ copy of return tickets);

· passport details;

· police clearances from country of domicile

· company registration/FTIB approval if its an FTIB project

The traveller may apply for this visa on arrival in Fiji BUT it must be done during the fourteen (14) day period and NOT after.
