Fiji – Queensland Trade & Investment Symposium, 20 July 2017 at the Stamford Hotel, Brisbane

The Fijian Consulate General & Trade Commission together with the Fijian High Commission and Australia Fiji Business Council (AFBC) cordially extends an exclusive invitation to the Fiji-Queensland Trade & Investment Symposium held at the Stamford Hotel in Brisbane on Thursday 20 July 2017.
The purpose of the Fiji-Queensland Symposium is to promote two-way business, trade and investment, targeting the information and communications technology (ICT) and agriculture sectors.

The Symposium will be hosted by the Fijian Hon. Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism, Lands and Mineral Resources with the Honourable Prime Minister of Fiji, Rear Admiral (retired) Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama as chief guest. The Symposium is expected to be attended by delegates from leading Australian businesses from these sectors, and senior representatives from the Queensland and Federal Governments.

The key guest speaker at the event will be the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Halfbrick Studios in Australia, Mr Shainiel Deo. Mr Deo is a prominent Australian of Fijian heritage who has made immense contributions to the Queensland economy, while leaving an indelible mark on the Australian ICT and gaming sector with the creation of the globally successful mobile gaming app Fruit Ninja that has been downloaded more than 1 billion times. Mr Deo epitomises the Fijian spirit of innovation, resourcefulness and perseverance and it is hoped that his business legacy will be both compelling and inspirational to delegates at the Symposium and reflect the strongcalibre of professionals and businesses from Fiji.

The Fijian Government, through the Fijian Consulate General and Trade Commission in Sydney and the Fijian High Commission in Canberra, in partnership with the AFBC, is shifting perceptions in the Australian market and encouraging more Australian investors to consider Fiji as a viable and ideal destination for ICT, mining and agriculture investments.
